Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. While Saturday still felt like summer, touches of fall swept through the air on Sunday so I opted for these suede ankle boots and cozy plaid shirt. I paired them with my favorite, and super comfortable, distressed jeans. I can’t believe there are only two days left of summer!
One of my favorite color combinations this year for the fall season is olive or sage green and blush pink. This is one of many ways to transition your summery pastel pieces with the rustic colors of fall. Blush will also pair well with deep shades of blue and rich shades of burgundy (a favorite of mine last fall as well). Or, try pairing soft shades of blue with navy blue or sage green. I’m sad to think about summer’s end, however I am looking forward to layering pieces for fall and adding more textures into my outfits with suede, tweed and faux fur :)
I hope you’re all having a wonderful week – thank you for reading!
I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend! I’m sure many of you took advantage of the various Labor Day sales this weekend to kickstart your fall wardrobes. One of my favorite new pieces for fall is flared denim. While this trend has re-invented itself several times since the 70’s, I was never a huge fan do to the fact that they never appeared tailored enough, or the casual versions seemed to flare too much. However, I love how they elongate your legs and you can wear them with pretty high heels due to their typically long inseams. I love this Blank NYC style in particular because they are the perfect wash for fall, and have the right amount of distressing. I also love how comfortable they! I wanted to keep the look simple and casual so I paired them with a simple white tee, but I see endless possibilities :)
My style has always been simple, especially my work wardrobe. I tend to gravitate towards classic pieces in a monochrome palette. Typically, I try to introduce textures or pops of color to keep my outfits from looking overly simple. When I spotted this super soft sweater with a flowy ruffled hem, I immediately knew I could easily dress up a simple outfit with this piece. Also, it’s perfect for transitioning from summer to fall with the short sleeves, while still offering warmth. I paired it with these comfortable and stretchy dress pants; if there’s a way to look professional while remaining comfortable throughout the day, I’m happy :)
